| According to the Armed Services YMCA of the USA consolidated audit of December 31, 2017 (Note 1, Nature of Activities): "Armed Services YMCA of the USA and Affiliates (ASYMCA) is a national member association chartered by the National Council of Young Men's Christian Associations of the United States of America (National Council)... ASYMCA is an independent not-for-profit corporation with its own volunteer board serving military communities. ... As of December 31, 2017, ASYMCA is composed of 13 affiliates (hereinafter referred to as branches) and a headquarters located in Woodbridge, Virginia. Headquarters functions as a liaison between the National Council and the ASYMCA branches and is responsible for providing administrative support to these branches."
