According to the International Peace Institute audit of December 31, 2017 (Note 9, Donated Services and Materials): "During 2017 and 2016, the Organization received donated professional services and services in connection with seminars and workshops, including personnel costs, the use of conference facilities, participants' accommodations, reception costs, transportation and legal fees. The aggregate value of these services was determined to be $294,550 (2017) and $489,464 (2016)..." According to the International Peace Institute audit of December 31, 2017 (Note 8c, Commitments and Contingency, Government supported projects are subject to audit by the granting agency): "The Government of Canada ('Canada') has conducted an audit of one of the Organization's projects that Canada provided funding for over the years 2014 - 2016. Based on the preliminary results of the audit, the Organization may be required to reimburse Canada for approximately $450,000. The Organization has provided a response to the audit results and has requested a reconsideration of the amount of reimbursement. Accordingly, the amount representing the preliminary audit results has not been accrued within the [audited] financial statements at December 31, 2017." |
